We provided a complete set lighting solution for the “Glow Room” at Madame Tussauds in January, fitting LED strips on 3 sides of a cube structure to create an immersive cage of light. Stage centre stands a waxwork model of Dua Lipa, who visitors are invited to pose with to create a 3D freeze frame image which can be instantly uploaded to social media. Our client was Illusion Design and Construct who built and installed the structure for Merlin Entertainments. We worked closely with The Flash Pack to synchronise their cutting edge camera trigger system with our lighting.
It was a huge pleasure to be a part of sending Kinky Boots The Musical out on it’s UK Tour this summer. Electric Foundry provided a wide range of set electrics solutions for set pieces and props alike. George led the project, support by Leo, Dan and a top shelf team of freelance electricians.
We worked closely with the scenic constructor, All Scene All Props, to integrate high quality lighting into several set trucks. Most of the systems were wireless and we designed them with touring and ease of use in mind.
Leo led this project for Electric Foundry – providing set electrics and light up orbs for this show of epic proportions up in Gateshead, as part of the Great Exhibition of the North. Lighting Designer Phil Supple and Designer Rebecca Brower approached us with a clear vision in mind and we manufactured and installed a range of custom items. We worked with Stage One, the scenic constructor, to integrate lighting into set pieces. We also designed and manufactured 50 battery powered light up orbs which featured in the performance.
September saw the opening of several new galleries at the Imperial War Museum London, including “Moments of Silence” created by 59 Productions. We provided full lighting design and installation services for the gallery, including cove lighting, emergency lighting and our main feature: the “Light Room” surrounded on all sides by light boxes.
We were pleased to design and provide 250 tiny light sources with a comprehensive battery kit for the opening event of the Edinburgh International Festival “Five Telegrams” created by Anna Meredith and 59 Productions.
The lights fit into the palm of a performers hand are are operated by a simple button. They are programmable – here we created a simple fading effect when the button was operated.
The source is a tiny 3000K LED which kicks out some serious light.
These sources are in our hire stock for all sorts of uses – whether in the palm of a performer’s hand or integrated into a prop or set-piece. They can be programmed to integrate with sensors, buttons or other inputs.
Electric Foundry provided custom LED design and build services for this event. We created rainbow scrolling LED shelving plus a plinth with multiple modes and effects, controllable from the client’s phone.
Top spec high brightness LED tape in deep extrusion meant no spotting and ultimate quality of light from the LED strips. Ideal for this clean and stylish corporate event.
